Wing Commander und WinXP
Bald kommt das neue Betriebssystem von Microsoft, was laut Microsoft Maßstäbe setzen soll. Ob uns ein Betriebssystemwechsel wie vor sechs Jahren auf Windows 95 bevorsteht kann ich noch nicht sagen (ich hoffe mal nicht...), jedoch wird das vorrausgesehen.Nun stellt sich natürlich die Frage der Kompatibilität. Nun hat PospiclePete, ein WC Fan, herrausgefunden dass nicht nur WC3/4 kompatibel, sondern auch WC Prophecy und Secret Ops dadrunter laufen! Das war unter Win2K ja nicht der Fall. Hier das Zitat in englisch:
"Great news for those who whant to get rid of the old DOS-based Win9x/ME (and those who already did) ! I tried the new NT-based Windows XP, and it seems that Microsoft claims that XP is more compatible are true... I've tried some old DOS games and it runs great. But more importantly, I've tried the WCP demo and Secret Ops and they work perfectly when you apply a compatibility setting on the main EXE. Great ! Now we won't need the Win2000 patch for Prophecy, and also secret Ops will work !"
